Casa Pinata: a Modern Twist on Classic Drinks!

With a background in craft beer-making, founder Andres Marino was tuned in to the nuances that make a good beverage great. When his wife became pregnant, the pieces fell into place to create a satisfying, complex non-alcoholic drink that went beyond regular pop or soda. He set out to pay homage to the classic Mexico City refreshment, Tepache, and upon relocating to Canada, the ideas kept flowing.

Casa Pinata makes handcrafted, small-batch drinks in Hamilton at the non-profit co-op culinary incubator, The Kitchen Collective on King st E in Hamilton. They're in good company at that space, also home to other MRKTBOX friends of the fam like Escarpment Kombucha and Smithers Sausages.

Currently Casa Pinata produces a creative selection of sparkling drinks, and we're pleased to stock them at all MRKTBOX locations. These are all fabulous on their own as refreshing alcohol-free drinks, and lend themselves seamlessly as the base of cocktails any mixologist would be proud of! Created using all-natural ingredients like organic agave and fair-trade cane sugar (piloncillo), these are flavourful bevvies you can feel good about imbibing!

Tepache: the classic spiced Pineapple drink, with piloncillo, clove, cinnamon, lime and a hint of hot pepper!

Hibiscus: also known as Agua de Jamaica, this agua fresca has a beautiful hue, with fresh floral-tart notes and ginger.

Paloma: Stunning with or without adding tequila! Grapefruit and rosemary create a bitter/sweet tang.

Strawberry Shrub: juicy strawberries and tangy rhubarb blend with mint-infused vinegar for a unique summery drink!

Casa Pinata will be popping up at Dundurn Market this Saturday August 10 from 10am - 1pm, be sure to stop by for a sample and say hi!
