MRKT Quiche: Easy Quiche Recipe filled with your favouriteMRKTbox finds!

The first step to any great quiche is the crust! But you can skip all the fuss and just use a pre-made one (no one has to know 😉). But you can’t cut corners with the filling! At MRKTbox, we carry a wide range of local and organic ingredients to make best tasting quiche filling! The great thing about quiche is that it’s ✨customizable✨—you can add just about anything to the filling and it would probably taste good.

Some recent flavors from our MRKTKitchen include:

  • Eggplant/Roasted Tomato and Parmesan

  • Zucchini/Cilantro Pesto, and Dukkah.

YUM! So. Good.

Something we prioritize in the MRKTKitchen, and in our quiches specifically, is the use of

surplus items. This is a tasty way to ensure that we are limiting our food waste while staying committed to sustainability and the well-being of our planet! So the next time you find produce sitting in the back of your fridge, get creative and try making a quiche!

Below you will find our simple quiche recipe that you can customize to your tastebuds. Most ingredients are available for purchase at all three Market locations!

Happy Quiche Making!

. . .

Ingredients (per single quiche)

● Pre-made pie crust (**can we plug any local makers here?**)

● 5-6 Bekings Organic Free-Range Eggs

● 150 mil Hewitts 10% cream

● 1 tsp salt

● Cheese (this is measured with the heart❤️). Jenson Cheese or Fromagerie L'Ancêtre

are the way to go here!

● Any combinations of vegetables or protein you prefer

● Any fresh herbs for garnish (if you’re feeling fancy!)

Directions

1. Par-bake the crust as per the package instructions.

2. While the crust is par-baking, whisk the eggs, cream, and salt until fully combined.

3. Once the crust has cooled, add your cheese and filling to the bottom of the pie shell.

4. Gently ladle the egg mixture on top of the cheese and filling.

5. Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees or until eggs are set (give the quiche a shake and if the eggs jiggly, give it a few more minutes)

Add roasted potatoes and a green salad to round out your meal. Huzzah!
